Dr Dobromila Jaskot is an award-winning, internationally acknowledged, classically trained composer, specialising in art / experimental music, and music for screen.

bio

Dobromila has started her musical education in early childhood in piano and composition, quickly becoming acknowledged and multi-awarded internationally (Finalist at the Competition for Composer-Pianists Kultursalon Hoerbiger, Austria, 2005; Nomination at the Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative, 2013).

 

She has gained highly professional skills thanks to her broad range of musical studies (Master, PhD, media /screen music courses). From 2005 to 2015 she was a Lecturer in film music, orchestration, and electroacoustic music at the Music Academy in Bydgoszcz, Poland, currently being dedicated to music creation as a freelancer.

Dobromila’s music has been frequently commissioned and performed at international festivals (i.e. Totally Huge New Music Festival, Australia; Other Minds Festival, USA;  Warsaw Autumn, Poland), and presented in international radio programs (i.e. Deutsche Rundfunk, ABC Classic). Interviews and articles have been published in numerous musical journals (i.e. Glissando, Poland; Real Time, Australia).

 

She has been collaborating with leading new music ensembles, orchestras and soloists (i.e. Elision Ensemble, Ensemble Modern, New Music Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia), creating at her home studio in Perth, Australia.
